Task 10: Folklore Story (Nunuk Ragang)

Synopsis

       This story is about a tree that was called “Nunuk Ragang” by the villagers that live at Ranau. Long time ago, there are rooster that were staying nearby the Nunuk Ragang. One day the chicken try to find a food at the tree area and it found a body of male and female. The two body that were found is called Nunuk Ragang people, not so long after that the Nunuk Ragang couple is married and they live happily since then. Then, there come something that were can’t be describe and they called it Ragang Tie. The villager is afraid of the Ragang Tie, because it can bring bad luck for them and it makes them want to move away from the village to avoid the Ragang Tie. When they were move to another village, another trouble is coming which is there are “Orang Tanah” that was very scary. The “Orang Tanah” is appear when they are planting paddy. On that day, the villagers hear a weird sound that come from underground, the villagers is scare and report it to their chief. The villager is planning to find the source of the weird sound. They try to dig the ground and then they found a big hole, the hole is full of people with beast behaviour. The people in the hole thanks the villagers and they want to stay at the village, but there is one condition which is the villagers must leave the place if not they will sacrifice their life. All the villagers are scared and start move away from the village. The villagers has moved to a hilly area and the rooster scratch the hill until it become flat and it make them easier for farming. As usual the rooster is crow in the morning, then the “Orang Tanah” heard the chicken crow and tries to trace where the sound came from. The villager realise about it, they once again had to move away to avoid the “Orang Tanah”. The villagers had to move to different a place which is Tambunan & Apin-Apin. At last they were staying at Keningau until the end of their life and the “Orang Tanah” is stop their searching of the Nunuk Ragang people.

Task 9: Summarizing Text

Househusbands

          In this article, it is actually about an American family’s life, but it has been turn into more specific which is the life of “Househusband”. To become a househusband, they need to change their style and idea of their life. For example, the way they do a thing is always fast especially when it is about work. So, when the househusband at house they need to slow the work that they do, it will make the children and the wife feel more comfortable. If they still doing things like before (fast) it will make his family become unhappy, it’s because he didn't have time to spend with them. Besides, when you becoming a househusband you need to learn how to express your feelings. This is because, before they become a househusband, they never tell what they feel to others. You need to express your feelings, especially to your family because they need to know what you things about them, besides when you didn't talk so much it can lead to family problems. Nowadays, many people talk about the househusband especially about the work they do such as housework, cooking, cleaning, and shopping. For the writer, it was the easiest things to learn then the way of his life and way of thinking before. So, to have a happy family, the writer suggests other husband to understand their family. 

Task 8: Movie

How to Train Your Dragon?

          This movie is about a group of Viking family which have many problems that were caused by the dragon. The main characters in this movie is Hiccup, his father is a Viking warriors. His father hate dragon so much and he want to teach his son, Hiccup on how to hunt the dragon. But, in the first Hiccup really want to become a Viking warriors that hunting for a dragon. Than, when he manage to catch one of the mysterious dragon by his own effort, he feel sympathy to kill the dragon and decide to tame the dragon to show the other Viking warriors that the dragon actually not so dangerous. But, he didn't have the courage to tell it especially to his father, until he was get caught by his father that he keeps a dragon. His father told Hiccup to kill the dragon but he can’t do that, so his dragon was bought to the nest of all dragons in other island. At there, the other Viking warriors were attack by the leader of the dragon including his father, than Hiccup and his friend try to go there to help them by riding their own dragon that were tame by Hiccup. When they arrive at the place, Hiccup try to release his dragon first but the lock is too tight and he can’t open it, but his father at last help Hiccup to release the dragon. This is because, his father realise the other dragon always attacking their village and steal their food because they scared of the dragon leader. Now, only Hiccup can fight the dragon leader because his dragon is the fastest among the other dragon, at last Hiccup and his dragon manage to beat the dragon leader with a help from his friends. But, Hiccup lose one of his foot in the fight because get attack by the dragon leader, he feel sad but happy at the same time because his village now live together with the other dragon after they manage to tame them.

 
If I was the Main Character

          I will tell my father that I catch a dragon and manage to tame it. By this way, I can convince the other Viking warriors that we didn't need to kill the dragon that we catch, but try to tame them. Besides, when there are so many dragons that were already get tame, we can teach the other teenagers at the village to control the dragon that they like. This is because, when all of the villagers have their own dragon, it will make us very easy to fight the other dragons that try to steal our food at the village. Besides, it will give us more courage to fight the dragon leader. I think it will be easier to fight the leader because our force is much more big then the single dragon leader. Furthermore, I will not lose my foot and we can live with the dragon from the earlier without a problem if only I was the main character.

Topic: Exercise to keep fit

Topic Sentence: One of the ways to make our body keep fit is by exercising.

Supporting Details:
a)   Our body get trained to do something regularly.
b)  We can do things like walking, jog, or anything else.
c)   We must control the way of our eating habit.

Conclusion: Exercising is the best way to make our body keep fit and healthy.

          How to make our body keep fit? One of the ways is by doing an exercise. When we are exercising, our body will be trained to do something regularly and it will make our body fit by getting used with exercising. Besides, in exercising there are many things that we can do to keep fit, such as the basic things like walking, jog, bicycling, and by lifting heavy things. This type of exercise is good for us to keep fit, but to make our exercise even better we can do other thing that much more fun and interesting besides want to keep fit, such as climbing, kayaking, swimming, and we also can do some sports too. Lastly, when we want to keep fit, we should control the way we eat before or the way of our eating habit. It’s because, when we are not controlling our eating habit, all of our effort to keep fit is useless, so that’s why we should taking the best food which is contain more nutrients and vitamin, not contain more fat, sugar, carbohydrate, or salt. This is to make sure our body is taking the best in the way to make our body fit and it will support all of our effort in our exercise. To conclude, by exercising it is one of the best way to make us keep fit and also become healthier.

Question 1
Topic: The food that I like.

Topic Sentence: My favourite food is home cooking food.

Supporting Details:
a)   The food is cooked with love by my mother.
b)  No need to worry about the hygiene of the food.
c)   Home cooking food is cheaper than the food that we buy outside. 

Conclusion: The conclusion, food that was cooked at home is the best for me.

          The food that I like is a home cooking food especially when it was cooked by my mother. I prefer this kind of food because the food is cooked with love by my mother. Besides, when it was cooked at home I don’t have to worry about the food hygiene it’s because we can see by our own eyes how the food is prepared and we can already know whether it is clean or not. Lastly, home cooking food is cost me cheaper than the food that we buy outside for example from the restaurant and other places that selling food. It is because, when we cooked the food by our own it only cost for the ingredients, besides the quantity is very different from the restaurant, which is we take the food as much as we want. To conclude, in my opinion the food that were cooked at home is the best for me.
 
 
 
  

Task 6: Writing Mistake

          In writing there are so many mistake that I always do especially in the grammar. Besides, I also can’t find the right word or sentence to describe what actually that I want to tell in my writing. Firstly, when it’s time for English subject especially writing, I really think that I can’t make it even for answering a little question I’m still thinking twice or more because I don’t have a confident in myself. After a few years pass, when I set in my mind English is fun subject I find it become easier for me to write, maybe it’s because a lot of reading in English is helping. But, when writing I still have a problem especially to start each of the paragraph. This is because; it’s hard for me to get an idea in the beginning to start my writing. I think, to overcome our problem in writing there are many way that we can do. Firstly, reading an English article is the best way so that we knew many more words that maybe new for us, not just read an article but any kind of book or magazine as long it’s English. Besides, we also can learn by watching a movie or listen to music in English, but it’s not the best way because we may enjoy the movie or music more then to learn the English. So, just think English is an easy and fun subject, it’s make you easier to learn.      

Task 5: Water Pollution

          There are so many type of pollution and one of it is water pollution. Water pollution is not a common pollution in our country nowadays; it has begun long time ago and has caused many problems especially on our health. The trash that we thrown into the river also one of the causes of water pollution, not just that it also caused a flood. Furthermore, the water pollution also can cause a death, it’s because polluted water is not safe to take any more but if we are sick because of it and no further treatment it can cause a death. To conclude, the water pollution that happen nowadays is because of our own mistake which is we make the river as a dustbin and throw the trashes on it.
